It might be a cool idea to add a section of the app for people who want to create a private room for games. So anyone bored can use the app and go to this section to find others who want to start a game. So if I wanted to find people who wanted to play Mario Party for example. I can go to that part of the app, see if anyone's also wanting to play Mario Party. And if not, make a post there advertising I want a Mario Party session. And have people come in and we can quickly begin a session. I just think a dedicated, "Play Request" or whatever you'd wanna call it makes sense for a gaming app meant to connect other gamers. What better way to connect gamers, than a section of the app asking for play mates?
